The initiative adds to a series of recent agreements promoted by the province to strengthen the connection between technical training and the needs of productive sectors, including mining.

Under the new agreement, Guido Mogetta S.A. will provide supervised practical training opportunities for graduates of the Road Machinery Operator program, allowing participants to gain experience operating real equipment and complete a key stage of their training.

The initiative will initially involve participants from San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca and Antofagasta de la Sierra, each of whom will complete 30 hours of supervised practical training.

According to the provincial government, the agreement was signed by Minister of Education and Labor Verónica Soria and company representative Guido Ricardo Mogetta Prevedello.

The participation of Guido Mogetta S.A. follows a similar initiative by MARA, which recently opened training opportunities for graduates of the same program within a mining production environment.

Training in the Puna Region

At the same time, the Labor Training Campus completed a new edition of its Arc Welding course, developed in partnership with the UOCRA Foundation and the Municipality of Villa Vil.

The program lasted two months and included 160 hours of training, with the participation of 24 students from the communities of Laguna Blanca, Corral Blanco and La Angostura.

As part of the closing activities, participants presented samples of the work completed during the course.

According to organizers, initiatives such as this seek to strengthen vocational training opportunities in the province's interior and expand employment prospects in communities across the Puna region.

Ongoing Training Programs

The Campus also continues to offer training activities in partnership with Finning CAT, aimed at professionals working in environment, health and safety (EHS) functions.

Course content includes concepts related to Critical Risk Management, tools for incident identification and analysis, Life-Saving Rules applied to accident prevention, and Responsible Refusal as a mechanism for promoting safe decision-making in the workplace.

The program also includes modules on Safety Walks, a tool used to identify workplace risks and support continuous improvement initiatives.
