While mineral exploration continues to attract much of the attention surrounding the development of Mendoza's mining sector, a significant share of Impulsa Mendoza's resources is being allocated elsewhere. According to the company's 2025 Annual Report, the Impulsando el Conocimiento program represented 27% of total operating expenditure, equivalent to approximately ARS 904 million out of ARS 3.348 billion, expressed in constant December 2025 pesos.

This investment takes on added significance in light of two initiatives launched in recent days. On one hand, the company concluded the application process for scholarships to pursue university diploma programs in Mining Management with an Environmental Perspective and Environmental Management and Auditing. On the other, it launched three new free online courses with certification through its e-learning platform, covering geology, mineral exploration and mining project development. Both initiatives form part of the same strategic program designed to strengthen the human capital supporting the mining industry.
A Strategy That Extends Beyond Training
Impulsando el Conocimiento was created as a strategic initiative to strengthen the mining sector's technical capabilities, foster stronger links with academia and promote broader dissemination of mining-related knowledge. The program also includes communication initiatives, the development of specialized technical content and institutional partnerships aimed at reducing information gaps while building expertise related to mining development.
According to the company's annual report, the program is designed to train professionals, suppliers, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders across the mining value chain, while also promoting research, educational tools and forums for knowledge exchange on technical, financial, environmental and sustainability-related topics.
Program Highlights
During 2025, Impulsando el Conocimiento provided training to 292 participants through various educational initiatives and organized 17 workshops, seminars and technical events.
In addition, 58 participants received specialized training in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria, while the company produced 23 specialized publications covering topics such as mineral exploration, copper, the energy transition and other issues related to the mining industry.
The program also expanded its network of institutional partnerships through agreements with the National University of Cuyo (UNCuyo), BYMA Educa, and several organizations linked to business development, education and the mining sector, incorporating new tools to broaden the reach of its activities.
University Diplomas and New Online Courses
The recently completed scholarship program selected eight professionals to enroll in the diploma programs Mining Management with an Environmental Perspective and Environmental Management and Auditing, both offered by the Faculty of Applied Sciences to Industry at the National University of Cuyo.
The selected participants include engineers, geologists, environmental specialists, university lecturers, mining logistics professionals, journalists, human resources professionals, biotechnologists and natural sciences specialists.
At the same time, Impulsa Mendoza launched three new free, self-paced online courses through its e-learning platform: Geology and Mining in Mendoza, Mining: From Scientific Discovery to Engineering Project, and The Mining Project: Extracting Minerals from the Earth.
The courses are designed for students, professionals, suppliers, entrepreneurs and anyone interested in expanding their knowledge of the mining industry, with participants receiving a certificate upon successful completion.
Developing Human Capital for a Growing Industry
As Mendoza's portfolio of mining projects continues to expand, demand is increasing for professionals with expertise in geology, engineering, environmental management, sustainability, logistics and other disciplines that support mining development.
Against this backdrop, human capital development has become one of the areas in which Impulsa Mendoza has chosen to invest a significant portion of its operating budget.
Beyond supporting exploration projects and initiatives aimed at strengthening the province's mining ecosystem, the company's budget allocation demonstrates that technical capacity building has become a central component of its long-term strategy. The completion of the university diploma scholarship program and the launch of new online training courses are the latest steps in an ongoing effort to prepare the skilled workforce needed by an industry that continues to expand across the province.
