Privacy Policy

Panorama Minero is Argentina's specialist mining media outlet, based in Buenos Aires. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit www.panorama-minero.com, what we use it for, who we share it with and what you can ask us about it.

We collect only the data needed to run the service:

• Data you give us: first name, last name and email address when you subscribe to the newsletter; first name, last name, email, phone (optional), subject and message when you use the contact form; and your account details if you register or sign in.
• Browsing data: pages visited, device and browser type, approximate country or region, and the site you arrived from.
• IP address: recorded alongside messages sent through the contact form, as a spam and abuse safeguard.

The site uses a small set of cookies:

You can block or delete cookies from your browser settings. If you block the necessary ones, some features — remembering your language, keeping you signed in — will stop working.

• Necessary cookies: store your chosen language and, if you sign in, your authenticated session. The site does not work properly without them.
• Measurement cookies: Google Analytics 4 and Vercel's analytics (Web Analytics and Speed Insights) tell us, in aggregate, what gets read and how fast each page loads.

We use the data for the following purposes, and no others:

• Sending you the newsletter and the updates you asked for, and letting you unsubscribe whenever you want.
• Answering the commercial, editorial or administrative enquiries you send us.
• Running your user account and keeping your session signed in.
• Measuring how the site is used, to decide what to cover and to improve performance.
• Meeting the legal obligations that apply to us.

We share data only with the providers that keep the site running, and only as far as that function requires:

We do not sell personal data. Some of these providers process the information outside Argentina, in jurisdictions whose data protection rules may differ from local ones.

• Vercel Inc.: site hosting and performance metrics.
• Google LLC: audience measurement through Google Analytics 4.
• Google Firebase: authentication for user accounts.
• Our own servers: managing subscriptions, enquiries and editorial content.

We keep subscription data for as long as the subscription is active; contact form messages for as long as they are needed to answer and document the enquiry; and account data for as long as the account exists. The session cookie expires after seven days. Analytics data is retained in aggregate form, according to each provider's retention periods.

Under Argentina's Personal Data Protection Act (Ley 25.326), you can ask us for access to your personal data, and for it to be corrected, updated or deleted, and you can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time. Write to informes@panorama-minero.com and we will answer within the periods the law sets.

The Agencia de Acceso a la Información Pública, as the authority enforcing Ley 25.326, handles complaints about breaches of personal data protection rules.

The site is served entirely over HTTPS, the session is held in a cookie the browser does not expose to page scripts, and access to internal systems is restricted to the staff who need it. No system is infallible, but we work to keep the data you trust us with protected.

The site is aimed at industry professionals and at the general public interested in mining. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16; if we find that we have received a child's data without their parent or guardian's consent, we delete it.

If we change this policy, we publish the new version at this same address and update the date in the header. We recommend checking back from time to time.
