The MARA Copper-Gold Project has signed cooperation agreements with the UOCRA Foundation, the training arm of Argentina's construction workers' union, and the Faculty of Technology and Applied Sciences at the National University of Catamarca (FTyCA-UNCA) to expand technical training and workforce development initiatives in Catamarca Province.

The agreements establish vocational training programs, skills certification, technical assistance, applied research, professional internships and technology transfer initiatives aimed at preparing workers, students and professionals for careers in the mining industry.
One of the agreements focuses on addressing shortages of specialized construction workers required for large-scale mining projects. Eduardo Fecha, Secretary General of UOCRA Catamarca, said the initiative will help train local workers to meet the technical demands of mining construction.
Under the partnership, MARA will coordinate construction trades training programs and provide its facilities for supervised professional internships.
According to Javier Carranza, Human Resources Manager at MARA, the agreements form part of the project's long-term strategy to strengthen local workforce capabilities through collaboration with educational institutions and industry organizations.
Applied Research and Professional Development
A separate agreement with the National University of Catamarca broadens the collaboration to include applied research projects, scholarships, professional internships and specialized training programs.
Natalia Fernández, Dean of the Faculty of Technology and Applied Sciences, said the partnership will create new opportunities for applied research while strengthening links between academia and Argentina's mining industry.
Together, the agreements establish a framework for collaboration between MARA, the university and the UOCRA Foundation to support technical education, applied research and workforce development in one of Argentina's leading mining regions.
