Franco Pallucchini, CEO of the company, explained that the firm was created through the merger of Mapal and Sigma, two companies with experience in road infrastructure, civil works, sanitation, and earthmoving, which formed an alliance more than six years ago to work on mining projects.

Currently, the company carries out activities related to exploration, construction of mining roads, operation of heavy equipment, and infrastructure associated with metalliferous mining projects.

According to the company, mining operations demand high standards in safety, environmental management, and operational performance, especially in high-altitude environments and under extreme weather conditions.

In this context, Pallucchini stated that the company is advancing this year with the ISO Integrated Management System certification process and highlighted investments made in personnel training, machinery renewal, and maintenance programs to guarantee operational availability across projects.

He also explained that mining operations require state-of-the-art equipment and specialized personnel to comply with production standards and construction timelines. Another key topic addressed during the company’s participation in the exhibition was the training of San Juan workers for mining activity.

The company pointed out that the province developed a significant amount of specialized labor following the mining expansion that began in 2003, although part of that workforce migrated to other regions after activity declined during certain periods.

In this regard, Pallucchini emphasized the importance of strengthening technical training and stated that the growth of new projects could encourage the return of specialized workers to San Juan.

The company also highlighted the role of business partnerships in accessing larger-scale projects. According to the CEO of Mapal Sigma, the alliance between both companies made it possible to work simultaneously on different projects and expand operational capacity.

He also noted that the company is currently in discussions with firms from other provinces and abroad to develop collaborative work schemes linked to future mining ventures.

During the exhibition, the company presented interactive mining-related experiences, including virtual reality simulations and demonstrations of remote-controlled off-road machinery operations. This marked the company’s third participation with its own stand at the Mining Expo.
