The San Juan Mining Chamber and Banco Santander established a cooperation framework to develop initiatives related to mining and its value chain, with a particular focus on suppliers, SMEs, training and the creation of tools for employment.
The agreement was signed by José Luis Morea, President of the San Juan Mining Chamber, and Alejandro Butti, CEO of Santander Argentina, and provides for the creation of working groups and coordination forums, as well as programs related to financial education, employability and entrepreneurship.
One of the main areas of the agreement will focus on strengthening local suppliers, including the analysis of commercial and financial alternatives linked to the needs of the province’s mining productive ecosystem.
The initiative also provides for participation and coordination among representatives of mining companies, the Chamber and different areas of Santander.

Mining, Employment and Suppliers: Mining Chamber and Banco Santander Sign Cooperation Agreement
The agreement establishes a cooperation framework aimed at promoting initiatives related to the development of mining activity, financial education, training, employability, entrepreneurship and the strengthening of suppliers and SMEs that form part of the province’s mining ecosystem.
The San Juan Mining Chamber and Banco Santander signed a framework cooperation and assistance agreement aimed at supporting the sustainable growth of mining activity and its entire value chain. The agreement covers institutional, commercial, educational, social and financial actions, with initiatives aimed at strengthening local capabilities and creating tools for the different stakeholders linked to the sector.
The planned actions include the creation of working groups, coordination forums and sector meetings, as well as financial education, training, employability and entrepreneurship programs. Initiatives will also be promoted to strengthen local suppliers and analyze commercial and financial alternatives that contribute to the development of the activity and respond to the needs of its productive ecosystem.

Representing the San Juan Mining Chamber and the mining sector were Marcos Conca, Corporate Affairs Manager at Barrick; Rodolfo Ovalles, Legal and Institutional Affairs Manager at the Los Azules Project, McEwen Copper; Gabriel Corvo, CEO and General Manager of Minas Argentinas; and Sandra Barceló, Executive Director of the San Juan Mining Chamber.
Representing Banco Santander were Analia Balladores, Regional Commercial Head; Omar Yacir, Mining & Energy Business Manager; Constanza Bruno, Corporate & Investment Banking (SCIB) – Natural Resources; and Martin Chebble, Regional SME Leader.
