The Company announced it has commenced drilling Well 6 to 131 metres depth. Sandy and silt lithological units have been recovered with observations of high porosity. Formentera is located in Jujuy province.

Highlights include:

  • Drilling at Formentera concession well JAM 26-06 has reached 131m depth.

  • Two packer tests have been completed with Specific Gravity of the brine increasing showing higher dissolved solids.

  • Encouraging porous sands and volcanics that may contain lithium brines have been observed.

  • The two packer tests at 103m and 130m have been completed and the next test will be at 160m.

  • Flow rate for first packer test was 1,020L/hr. Above 1,000 L/hr is an excellent result.

The statistics of the brines sampled were excellent and set out below:

At 103 metres (96-101m -5 metre packer chamber)

  • Specific Gravity: 1.026 g/cm³ (shows dissolved ions in brine)

  • Electrical Conductivity: 39.4 mS/cm (shows conductive elements in solution)

-pH: 8.88

  • Total Dissolved Solids: 26.3 g/L (shows evidence of dissolved ions)

  • Temperature: 11.75 °C

At 130m metres (127-131m – 5 metre packer chamber)

  • Specific Gravity: 1.065 g/cm³ (an increase of 0.04 g/cm3 which is very positive)

  • Electrical Conductivity: 108.3 mS/cm

  • pH: 8.90

  • Total Dissolved Solids: 60.45 g/L (this is very positive)

  • Temperature: 19.6 °C

At 70m depth black sands were encountered showing very high porosity with volcanics, which is what Patagonia Lithium encountered in their very successful well JAM 24-02 (580ppm Li at 332m).

Phillip Thomas, Executive Chairman commented “We wasted no time in moving the drill, rehabilitating the surface at well five and commencing drilling at well six. The team has worked exceptionally well with only one day of drill maintenance downtime. The results so far have been excellent and mirror the geology we encountered in well JAM 24-02. Well Jam 24-02 assayed 580ppm Lithium at 332m depth). Our geological team are excited that we have intercepted volcanics which may contribute to lithium in brines. Brine has been sampled at 103m and 130m and ready for assay as well as sections for porosity testing.”

Three entrepreneurs born in the northern department of San Juan recount how the arrival of metal mining and the start-up of Veladero allowed them to transform small family projects into formal suppliers, acquire technical knowledge, and build ventures with a long-term vision, designed to sustain themselves beyond the mine’s life span.
