Vicuña published its first Sustainability Report, covering 2025, in which it presented economic, social and environmental indicators from its first year as a company, together with information related to the development of Josemaría and Filo del Sol.
The company, equally owned by BHP and Lundin Mining, reported that during the period it advanced with updates to the mineral resources and environmental permits for both deposits, in addition to submitting its application to join the Large Investment Incentive Regime (RIGI).
One of the main indicators relates to the participation of local suppliers and workers. During 2025, Vicuña Argentina worked with 580 suppliers of goods and services, 60% of which were companies from San Juan. At the same time, contractor companies employed 2,576 workers, 80% of whom were residents of the province.
At the end of the fiscal year, Vicuña Corp. also had 415 direct employees, with women accounting for 26%. In Argentina, 73% of those employed were residents of San Juan. During the year, 5,088.5 hours of training were recorded.

During 2025, its Board of Directors also approved a Water Management Strategy based on multi-source supply, water efficiency, resource recovery and reuse, and the prevention of impacts on water resources and ecosystems.
The report also states that no fatalities were recorded during the year and one recordable injury occurred over more than 3.5 million hours worked, resulting in a consolidated Total Recordable Injury Frequency Rate (TRIFR) of 0.056.
The document was prepared with reference to the GRI Standards, incorporates a double materiality assessment, and underwent a limited and independent external assurance process.
“This first report allows us to establish a baseline for our performance and transparently show where we stand, what progress we have made and the challenges that lie ahead,” said Ron Hochstein, CEO of Vicuña.
“Publishing these results also means making a commitment to continue measuring and improving our performance. As Vicuña moves forward, our challenge will be to maintain responsible management, with consistent standards and a long-term perspective on our impacts and our relationship with our surroundings,” added Mark Sitter, Senior Director of Sustainability at Vicuña.
