Vicuña awarded the construction of sections A1 and A2 of the Northern Corridor to the joint venture (UTE) formed by Contreras, BBC (Boetto y Buttigliengo Constructora) and San Juan-based company Construmin.

The contract was awarded following a technical and economic evaluation process that, according to the company, also considered local participation in the execution of the works.

The works cover 63.6 kilometres between the town of Angualasto and Junta La Palca, passing through Malimán, and correspond to the first section of the approximately 220 kilometres planned for the Northern Corridor.

The future infrastructure will provide access to the project through San Juan Province and meet the logistics requirements associated with its upcoming stages.

Scope of the Works

The joint venture will be responsible for carrying out the works corresponding to sections A1 and A2 in accordance with the approved engineering.

The scope includes earthworks, embankment construction, excavation and blasting, as well as drainage systems, retaining structures, signage and other road safety elements.

Participation of Local Companies

The joint venture was formed as a result of the business matchmaking rounds promoted by Vicuña, which brought together San Juan-based and national companies interested in participating in opportunities associated with the project.

The joint venture subsequently participated in the competitive process that concluded with the award of the contract for the construction of the first two sections of the Northern Corridor.
