Vicuña Argentina and the UOCRA Foundation for the Education of Construction Workers signed an agreement to implement a training program in trades and road machinery operation, with the first courses scheduled to begin in October.
The initiative, called “Basic Training I, Trades and Road Machinery Modalities,” includes theoretical and practical training aimed at people interested in developing job skills related to construction, infrastructure and mining.
The training will cover different specialties, including civil works and construction, electricity and instrumentation, plumbing, welding, structural steel assembly, and the operation of heavy equipment and road machinery.
Initially, the courses will be held in departments near the Vicuña project and will be organized under two modalities.
Trades training will comprise 160 hours, lasting approximately two months, with groups of up to 25 participants. Road machinery training, meanwhile, will comprise 120 hours of instruction, with groups of up to 15 participants.
Training and Certification
The UOCRA Foundation will be responsible for designing and delivering the courses, providing educational support and certifying the skills acquired.
It will also manage the “Soy Constructor” employment credential for participants who successfully complete the training. This tool allows training and employment history within the construction industry to be recorded.
Vicuña, for its part, will participate in implementing the program by providing training facilities and equipment for practical road machinery training, as well as overseeing the initiative.
According to the information provided, the agreement between the two organizations is aimed at developing training opportunities designed to strengthen local capabilities and provide employment tools for people interested in entering activities related to construction, infrastructure and mining.
