Veladero continues to provide updates on the extraordinary weather event affecting the high Andes. As part of its response, the company continues to keep its production activities temporarily suspended as a preventive measure.
During this period, teams responsible for essential supervision, critical infrastructure maintenance and environmental management remain on site. These personnel are accommodated at the Veladero camp, where they have the necessary conditions to safely carry out their duties. The company has established protocols for this type of situation, which have been in place since the beginning of the winter season.
As weather conditions permit, and based on ongoing technical assessments, the company has begun carrying out targeted air transfers, as access roads remain closed while snow-clearing operations continue. These flights are being conducted according to plan and in coordination with the relevant authorities.
The purpose of these flights is the preventive relocation of prioritized personnel, selected according to operational and wellbeing criteria. These movements form part of the contingency measures established to manage situations of this nature and are carried out only during weather windows that allow them to be conducted safely.
