This convention is known as the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC 2024). Romina Sassarini, the Secretary of Mining and Energy of the province, outlined in the opening remarks the measures that Salta has been implementing to boost investment in the provincial mining sector, aiming to strengthen its competitiveness and harness its geological potential. Among the highlighted actions are the streamlining of administrative processes and the implementation of policies that provide legal certainty to investors, as well as the strengthening of dialogue with local communities to ensure sustainable mining development beneficial to the entire population of Salta.

In her presentation, Sassarini also emphasized the dual scheme of mining property concession in Salta, where supervision is under the jurisdiction of the mining court, while the environmental and technical authority is the Secretary of Mining and Energy. Additionally, the official highlighted the drive in the exploitation of first-class minerals such as gold and lithium, as well as the importance of social license allowing for community engagement and participation in environmental monitoring.

Sassarini also pointed out that Salta has implemented the Provincial Plan for Sustainable Mining Development 2030, covering infrastructure, education, and state modernization, and has made regulatory changes to keep pace with mining investment dynamics. Tools such as the online mining cadastre and the SIMSA system, which digitizes and systematizes mining information in the province, have been developed.
