In a move that underscores the growing convergence between banking and mining, Banco Supervielle has opened a new branch in the province of San Juan—one of Argentina’s most prominent mining jurisdictions. The inauguration took place during the 2nd International Conference: Argentina Copper 2025, organized by Panorama Minero, and reflects a strategic commitment to provide financial solutions aligned with the pace and needs of the country’s mining ecosystem.

Located within the premises of the Association for Cooperation and Research in the Mining Industry (ACIIM), at Av. España Sur 1512, the new branch officially began operations on August 2. It will offer in-person services from Monday to Friday during morning hours. According to the bank, the focus will be on corporate banking, with officers trained in the operational dynamics and specific challenges of the mining sector.
“At Supervielle, we see a strategic opportunity to support the entire mining value chain in an integrated manner,” said Ignacio Morello, Chief Corporate Banking Officer at Supervielle. “This new office is part of our territorial expansion strategy and our commitment to delivering targeted financial solutions to an industry that is key to Argentina’s future.”
The branch is part of the bank’s +Minería business unit, which was created to exclusively serve mining companies and their suppliers. This structure allows Supervielle to offer customized products designed specifically for extractive operations, backed by executives and analysts with deep technical knowledge of the sector’s financial cycles, contractual frameworks, and investment needs.
Financing for a Sector on the Rise
The bank’s offering includes tailor-made credit ratings based on active purchase orders and contracts; invoice discounting without the need for formal notification; leasing for capital goods with tax benefits; and access to capital market instruments such as corporate bonds and exchange-traded promissory notes. Supervielle also provides international trade services, for which it was named “Best Trade Finance Bank” by Euromoney.
Remunerated accounts are also available for SMEs and individuals who receive salary deposits, reinforcing the bank’s intention to serve not only large mining firms but also mid-sized players and emerging businesses.
With over 130 branches across Argentina, Supervielle has already financed more than 80 mining suppliers with loans exceeding US$10 million. “With this new branch, Supervielle strengthens its role as a strategic financial partner for a sector in expansion, providing tools that enable growth, unlock investment, and streamline operations,” the bank emphasized.
