The relationship between insurance broker Icazati & Asociados and Panorama Minero spans nineteen years.

By Panorama Minero

This relationship began when San Juan's mining sector required an insurance broker with genuine technical expertise to manage the risks associated with the industry. It was consolidated through the ten consecutive editions of Expo San Juan Minera in which the firm was appointed as the event's official insurance broker. Over the past eighteen years, the company has witnessed the remarkable growth of the entire Panorama Minero group and the evolution of what has become the most important mining event in Argentina, and arguably throughout the region.

The foundation of this trust has a name and deep roots in the province. Dr. Roberto Icazati, attorney, risk analyst, and specialist in corporate insurance, has led this vision since the 1990s. During the early years of large-scale mining in San Juan, he worked alongside the pioneering mining companies to design the sector's first specialized insurance coverage. This accumulated experience of more than 30 years enables the company today to understand the unique processes required by both multinational mining companies and local SME suppliers.

"This continuity is not explained by inertia. It is explained by results. At every edition, a team of specialized professionals ensures that every exhibitor, contractor, and supplier complies with the event's insurance requirements. Over the years, we have come to understand the industry's unique dynamics through continuous specialization. In 2026, due to the scale of the Expo, we launched a new platform that processed more than 2,200 company qualification documents from over 20 countries, streamlining audit times and enabling instant validation of insurance policies. Perhaps there were only two or three visible faces, but behind them was a team of six people working to resolve any issue that arose."

Icazati added: "The support we provide goes far beyond insurance itself. Icazati & Asociados operates through an integrated services ecosystem designed to permanently support the requirements and needs of companies throughout the mining sector. This includes technical and legal advice on insurance coverage and contract reviews, analysis of bidding documents and guarantees, occupational health and safety consulting, comprehensive claims management with direct negotiations with insurance companies, periodic insurance audits, affinity programs with preferential conditions for business chambers and supplier networks, fleet logistics support, among many other services.

"This structure, backed by the leading insurance companies in the market and more than thirty years of experience, enables us to respond effectively to both major mining operators and SMEs throughout the mining value chain."

Argentina stands on the threshold of the largest mining cycle in its history. The projects advancing across the region will require increasingly demanding international risk management standards. Icazati & Asociados has worked alongside the mining industry for more than three decades and has prepared itself to support that growth. That is why Panorama Minero and many companies across the sector continue to place their trust in the firm.
