Hanaq Group has achieved a significant milestone in its Doncella lithium project, located in the Arizaro Salt Flat, in Salta province, by obtaining the Environmental Impact Statement (EIA) which will allow the construction of a 3,000-ton-per-year pilot plant for lithium carbonate. This progress came after successfully completing the Free and Informed Public Consultation (CPLI) and the Public Hearing in the local community of Tolar Grande.

According to the company, "this project represents a significant step forward for the lithium industry in Argentina as it will be the first in the country to use Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE) technology." The Doncella mining project is located in the Arizaro Salt Flat, approximately 3,475 meters above sea level, in one of the country's richest lithium resource areas. "Located 440 km from the city of Salta and 75 km from the town of Tolar Grande, its strategic location and available resources position this project as one of the most promising in northern Argentina," they indicated, while also highlighting that with a total of 33 exploration and exploitation concessions covering an area of 62,507 hectares, the Doncella Project stands as one of the most ambitious initiatives in the region.

The ultimate goal of this pilot plant will be to produce battery-grade lithium carbonate with a purity higher than 99.6%. This level of purity ensures that the lithium carbonate produced is suitable for use in advanced batteries, meeting the growing demand for clean and sustainable energy solutions worldwide.

"The issuance of the Environmental Impact Statement is not only a key step towards the construction of the pilot plant but also underscores HANAQ's commitment to responsible and sustainable mining. The company has pledged to develop environmentally friendly practices and to work with local communities, aiming to create a mining model that promotes both economic growth and the protection of natural resources."

Over two days, Salta once again showed why the chessboard can speak the language of mining. The 4th Mining Chess Circuit brought together companies, government, communities, students, suppliers, and players of all levels in a space where sport—far from being an accessory—became a genuine bridge connecting mining, education, and territorial development. The event was organized by CAPMIN – the Argentine Chamber of Mining Suppliers, the Secretariat of Mining and Energy of Salta, Salta Deportes, and CAPROSEMITP.
