The Governor focused on Salta’s potential to attract new investment and highlighted the conditions the province offers for the development of long-term projects. Among the strategic sectors, he placed particular emphasis on mining, energy and agribusiness.

“Salta offers confidence, strong institutions, legal certainty and major opportunities in mining, energy, agribusiness and other strategic sectors,” Sáenz said during the event.

The presentation is particularly relevant for the mining industry, in a context in which Salta accounts for a significant share of new investments related to lithium and is moving forward with the consolidation of a portfolio of copper projects and other strategic minerals.

Provincial government officials stated that Salta’s participation in Paris seeks, in this regard, to strengthen ties with potential investors and position the province as a destination for new capital, based on its natural resources and the institutional, productive and logistical conditions required to support the development of mining projects.

Mining and Energy on the Federal Agenda

As part of Argentina Week, Sáenz also participated in a meeting with President Javier Milei and governors from different provinces at the Château de la Muette, headquarters of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the country’s economic situation and development opportunities across its different regions. In this context, Milei highlighted the federal nature of the national government’s administration and the role of the provinces in strategic sectors such as energy, mining and agribusiness, whose activities are strongly developed outside the metropolitan area.

Joining Milei were Secretary General of the Presidency Karina Milei; Chief of Cabinet Diego Santilli; and Ministers Luis Caputo (Economy), Pablo Quirno (Foreign Affairs), Federico Sturzenegger (Deregulation), Mario Lugones (Health) and Juan Bautista Mahiques (Justice).

Also participating were Governors Rolando Figueroa (Neuquén), Ignacio Torres (Chubut), Alberto Weretilneck (Río Negro), Alfredo Cornejo (Mendoza), Rogelio Frigerio (Entre Ríos), Juan Pablo Valdés (Corrientes), Leandro Zdero (Chaco), Carlos Sadir (Jujuy), Claudio Vidal (Santa Cruz), Marcelo Orrego (San Juan), Raúl Jalil (Catamarca) and Jorge Macri (Autonomous City of Buenos Aires), together with Córdoba’s Lieutenant Governor, Myrian Prunotto.
