In the context of the start of lithium production at the plant located in Fiambalá, the top authorities of Zijin-Liex carried out an institutional visit that included cultural, technological, and protocol-related activities alongside representatives from the provincial and municipal governments.
The business delegation was led by Chen Jinghe, Chairman of the Board of Zijin Mining Group, and Gao Jianneng, CEO of Zijin-Liex in Argentina. Both were welcomed by Governor Raúl Jalil, the Mayor of San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca, Gustavo Saadi, and National Senator Lucía Corpacci, in a day that reaffirms Catamarca’s strategic position as a hub for mining development and technological innovation.
The itinerary included a visit to the Technological Hub (Nodo Tecnológico), where the executives from the Asian company learned about local advancements in artificial intelligence, robotics, and automation. They then toured the remodeling works of the former Government House, the future home of the Center for Art and Applied Technology (CATA), a space designed to integrate science, culture, and technical education. The day concluded with a visit to the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of the Valley.
Provincial legislators, municipal cabinet officials, and cultural representatives also took part in the tour, strengthening an agenda that combines mining investment, territorial development, and institutional cooperation.
The presence of Zijin-Liex’s top executives in Catamarca takes place in a context of expansion of lithium activity in the western region of the province, with promising prospects for job creation, technology transfer, and the strengthening of local value chains.
