The San Juan representatives highlighted the experience of local suppliers and the importance of clear rules and predictability for investment development. They also established contacts with companies and potential business partners in sectors including infrastructure, energy and mining.

Institutional Representation and International Networking

Both business leaders participated through UNAJE, the organisation representing Argentina’s delegation at the G20 young entrepreneurs’ summit.

Lucía Samper Dumandzic highlighted the importance of participating in business networks that facilitate access to international meetings and contacts that would be difficult to establish individually.

According to the San Juan representatives, questions arose during the meetings about San Juan’s location and its mining projects. In this context, they mentioned Vicuña as one of the developments attracting interest in the province’s investment opportunities.

Predictability and Investment Conditions

Lucía Samper Dumandzic stated that San Juan has decades of mining activity, experienced personnel and knowledge of the territory.

She noted that Argentina’s increasing international openness offers opportunities to establish partnerships, although she emphasised that long-term investments require confidence, predictability and clear rules.

Ivo Ante Dumandzic stated that, compared with previous years, he had noticed changes in international interest in Argentina’s opportunities. He clarified that foreign counterparts continue to consider policy continuity and predictability essential for developing long-term projects.

Lucía Samper Dumandzic mentioned Veladero, in San Juan, and Vaca Muerta as examples of projects operating in Argentina.

She also explained that these meetings are not solely intended to secure immediate commercial agreements, but also to establish relationships that can develop over time.

Local Suppliers and Productive Complementarity

Ivo Ante Dumandzic highlighted San Juan’s mining history over the past three decades and the experience acquired by supplier companies, technicians and workers.

He mentioned Grupo Dumandzic’s 75 years of activity in the province and noted that local companies have been preparing to meet increased demand for mining goods and services.

Lucía Samper Dumandzic stated that international companies can provide financing, while local suppliers contribute knowledge of the territory, management capabilities and qualified human resources.

She also mentioned the importance of coordination with the public sector for the industry’s development.

Business Contacts with Argentine Companies and Foreign Delegations

Lucía Samper Dumandzic explained that, within the Argentine delegation, which included business leaders from sectors such as healthcare and mass-market consumer goods, questions arose about San Juan’s supply requirements.

According to her, some participants expressed their intention to visit the province before the end of the year to identify business opportunities.

Ivo Ante Dumandzic detailed that they held discussions on mining with business delegations from Germany, China and India.

He explained that German and Chinese representatives showed interest in supplying equipment and heavy machinery, while Indian representatives enquired about acquiring mining properties and the possibility of expanding their operations in Argentina.

International Networking and Access to Financing

The summit agenda included presentations between delegations and individual meetings among business leaders from related sectors.

Lucía Samper Dumandzic highlighted the importance of following up on contacts to advance potential cooperation agreements.

She noted that the internationalisation of service companies can also be achieved through partnerships with foreign companies to participate in larger-scale projects.

Ivo Ante Dumandzic, aged 25, stated that San Juan companies could explore financing alternatives in international capital markets to participate directly in mining project development, in addition to their activities as suppliers of goods and services.
