The Altar Copper-Gold Project, operated by Aldebaran Resources Inc. (TSX V.ALDE), continues to stand out with significant exploration results.

By Panorama Minero

During the 2023-2024 campaign, the latest three drillings have encountered highly relevant mineralization, notably expanding the mineralized area of the project. The most outstanding hole was ALD-24-243, which intercepted one of the longest sequences of continuous mineralization in Altar's history. These results will play a crucial role in the upcoming mineral resource estimate, scheduled for the second half of 2024, as announced by the company.

Since the last resource estimate in 2021, over 60,000 meters of drilling have been completed on the project. "This project is already very large, but each additional drilling further expands the mineralized area," stated representatives of Aldebaran in a press release.

John Black, CEO of the company, commented: "Intercepting over 1.5 km of continuous high-grade mineralization in ALD-243 is a testament to the size and scale of the Altar project. We are excited to see how much the overall mineral resource estimate will grow when we complete an update in the second half of this year."

Dr. Kevin B. Heather, Chief Geological Officer of Aldebaran, added: "The 2023-2024 drilling campaign continues to deliver exceptional results in terms of long extensions of high-grade mineralization and expanding the known mineralized area. The three announced holes add significant extensions to the known mineralization and will support the upcoming mineral resource estimate."

Project Update

The company has completed its 2023/2024 field campaign, and the Altar camp is closed for the winter. In total, 20,024 meters were drilled in 20 diamond drill holes. Four holes are yet to be reported. Holes ALD-24-244, ALD-24-245, ALD-24-062EXT, and ALD-24-150EXT reached depths of 1,061 m, 979 m, 1,161 m, and 1,239.50 m respectively. Holes ALD-24-062EXT and ALD-24-150EXT are extensions of historical holes previously terminated at depths of 470 m and 548 m respectively.

"This significant advancement underscores the ongoing potential of the Altar project and solidifies Aldebaran Resources Inc.'s position as a key player in high-impact mining exploration in the region," they concluded.

Over two days, Salta once again showed why the chessboard can speak the language of mining. The 4th Mining Chess Circuit brought together companies, government, communities, students, suppliers, and players of all levels in a space where sport—far from being an accessory—became a genuine bridge connecting mining, education, and territorial development. The event was organized by CAPMIN – the Argentine Chamber of Mining Suppliers, the Secretariat of Mining and Energy of Salta, Salta Deportes, and CAPROSEMITP.
