ENG Since its founding in 2003, Fortescue has discovered and developed significant iron ore deposits in Australia and has developed some of the world's most important mines. The Company has become one of the world's largest iron ore producers and is focused on being the safest, lowest cost and most profitable mining company in the world. Fortescue currently transports more than 190 million tonnes a year, with more than 2 billion tonnes of iron ore delivered to our customers since 2008. At the same time, we are rapidly diversifying our business to become an integrated global green energy and metals company, creating the technology needed to decarbonise heavy industries (such as our iron ore operations), while building a global portfolio of renewable energy projects. From its regional office for Latin America in Buenos Aires, Fortescue carries out mineral exploration projects to contribute to the acquisition of critical minerals for the energy transition and green hydrogen and renewable energy projects. In Argentina, Fortescue is working on the development of mineral exploration projects in San Juan Province and green energy projects in Patagonia. Since it arrived in the province of San Juan, Fortescue has pursued to work closely with the various local stakeholders to join forces to develop a range of projects that can be implemented in San Juan province. With our presence in the province, Fortescue seeks to generate a positive impact on the local community and we work to promote the development of a local value chain, prioritising the hiring of San Juan suppliers.
