This initiative arises as a direct response to the growing need in the industry for highly trained professionals in Quality Control. The diploma offers comprehensive and high-quality training designed to meet the demands of the sector.

The program aims to train professionals capable of inspecting and managing quality control processes in the field for infrastructure and construction projects. Participants will receive training in:

• Planning, execution, and inspection of quality.

• Document management applied to quality control.

• Use of key tools such as Inspection and Testing Plans (PIE).

• Promotion of regional professionalization.

The program is aimed at:

• Workers with experience in construction and infrastructure who wish to formalize their knowledge and skills in quality control.

• Local SME entrepreneurs seeking to professionalize their processes to offer higher-quality services to the energy, mining, and infrastructure sectors, improving their competitiveness.

• Technical office staff of public and private organizations in Calingasta who need specific training in field quality control.

• Secondary school graduates from technical careers (such as Master Builder, mining technicians, and construction technicians) who seek specialization in Quality Control for quick labor insertion in the region.

The diploma is supported by contracting companies in the sector, who contribute their experience and knowledge, ensuring training aligned with industry demands.

The course starts in mid-April. Interested individuals who meet the requirements can apply by scanning the available QR code or through the following LINK:

• “This diploma has a capacity for 30 people and will be held starting in April in Calingasta, at the Universidad Católica de Cuyo campus.”

• “If there are people who live farther away, we have planned transportation to take them to class.”

• “A community communication meeting will be held so that the entire group of instructors from the Universidad Católica de Cuyo can explain and elaborate on the selection of the 30 participants. There will be a more general presentation, and from there, the selection process will begin.”

• “The most important thing is that this kind of personnel is very rare to find in San Juan province, which is why we thought it was great for people to be trained in quality control, particularly in the area and department that has the most copper projects, aside from the restart of operations at Casposo.”

• “With the construction of new projects in sight, having specialized people in quality control for the development of these projects is very important. In the past, whenever we’ve built projects, we’ve had to bring in quality control professionals from other provinces or countries.”

• “We want to capitalize on this opportunity being for local people, and it’s a very strong commitment, because this course will take the whole year, and we want the people who graduate from this diploma to be prepared for the construction of the upcoming projects. It’s a huge opportunity for Calingasta.”

• “I think this will be a fantastic co-construction process in terms of labor specialization, especially in quality and local skills.”

• “We aim to generate more social value in Calingasta: this means putting in many human and economic resources to make this diploma a success, like previous diplomas that were given in the past through the San Juan Mining Chamber with the Municipality of Calingasta and the two universities. This is an exclusive agreement between the Universidad Católica de Cuyo and Los Azules, so it’s a bigger effort.”

• “We are very excited about how this experience will go, looking ahead to the future with other specialties: this year’s community training course has 12 different courses, and this is one of them. Therefore, it’s not the only educational initiative we’re pushing for in 2025.”

• “This diploma is useful for all infrastructure works because we’re not only talking about mining infrastructure: it provides a more complete profile, it’s about the construction of all kinds of projects.”
