Lithium Americas (Argentina) Corp., known as Lithium Argentina, continues to move forward with the process of relocating its corporate domicile to Switzerland and operating under the new name, Lithium Argentina AG. This strategic shift, originally announced on November 29, 2024, will be subject to a shareholder vote at a special meeting scheduled for January 17.

The decision to establish its headquarters in Switzerland follows a thorough analysis of the strategic and legal opportunities offered by this jurisdiction. Among the key benefits are greater financial flexibility, proximity to European customers, and an attractive framework for current and future investors. The company announced that no significant changes are expected in its operations or financial results as a result of the relocation.

The group’s main operations will remain in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Furthermore, Lithium Argentina’s shares will continue to trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) under the new symbol “LAR.” This will ensure shareholders retain access to North American markets, operating under Canadian and U.S. securities regulations.

Additionally, Lithium Argentina maintains a stability agreement with its partner in the Caucharí-Olaroz project, GFL International Co. Ltd. (Ganfeng). This three-year agreement ensures that Ganfeng will not seek to acquire a majority stake in the company, except under specific conditions.

As reported on December 11, 2024, the company has formally filed materials related to the meeting, including the information circular, voting instructions, and a guide for virtual participation. The meeting will be held virtually on Friday, January 17, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time. Shareholders have until Wednesday, January 15, at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time to cast their votes.

With this restructuring, Lithium Argentina aims to solidify its position as a key player in the international lithium market, ensuring long-term growth potential and strengthening its global network.
