Latin Metals Inc. reported significant progress in exploration activities at the Cerro Bayo project, a gold and silver deposit located in Santa Cruz province, where its operating partner Daura Gold Corp. completed a geophysical survey aimed at refining drilling targets. This work paves the way for a drilling program scheduled to begin in mid-February.

According to the Canadian company, Daura completed approximately 27 line kilometers of induced polarization (IP) geophysical surveying using a pole-dipole configuration, covering previously identified target areas across the project. The survey outlined multiple chargeability and resistivity anomalies, interpreted as structurally controlled zones, including silicified veins and potential mineralized conduits.
The integration of these new IP results with historical geochemical sampling and previous gradient-array IP surveys led to the definition of 15 priority drill target areas within the project.
Phase 1 drilling program
During this initial phase, the program includes 22 diamond drill holes, totaling approximately 1,500 meters, with drilling permits already in place. The campaign seeks to validate the defined targets at depth, based on the integrated geophysical and geochemical work.
With preparations for the Phase 1 drilling program, Daura also initiated an additional regional gradient-array IP survey over the northern sector of the Cerro Bayo project. Results from this work will be incorporated into the ongoing target definition process and into the planning of potential follow-up drilling campaigns, expanding the project’s overall exploration scope.
Latin Metals also highlighted that progress at Cerro Bayo aligns with its prospect generator business model, under which the company retains exposure to early-stage exploration assets while its partners fund technical programs. “This approach allows the company to reduce operational risk and limit capital dilution, while advancing value creation through clearly defined technical milestones,” the company stated.
