The Santa Fe-based company Menara Construcciones, with more than six decades of experience, has begun its entry into the mining value chain in the province of San Juan.

Luis Laorden, Commercial Director of the company, stated that San Juan is emerging as a fundamental pillar of Argentina’s economy for the next 50 years, comparing its development potential to that of Neuquén.

Within the framework of Expo San Juan Minera 2026, the country’s most important mining exhibition, Luis Laorden, Commercial Director of Menara Construcciones, presented the vision of this family-owned company from Rafaela, Santa Fe, as it seeks to become part of San Juan’s productive ecosystem. With a trajectory spanning more than 60 years initiated by his grandfather, the company is now looking to expand its horizons and establish itself within the value chain of Argentine mining.

Menara’s arrival in San Juan is no coincidence. For Laorden, the province represents a strategic destination that historically may not have received the attention it deserved, but which today is emerging as a central player. According to the executive, anyone who is not paying attention to San Juan’s development is making a mistake, as the province will become one of the pillars of the national economy over the next 50 years, in a process comparable to what Neuquén experienced with the energy sector.

One of the points most emphasized by Laorden was the contribution that the province of Santa Fe can make to the sector. Despite not having mining deposits of its own, Santa Fe maintains a mining identity through its strong industrial complex. The province has a consolidated group of metalworking, assembly, and auto parts companies that have historically been competitive and are now undergoing a process of transformation to serve dynamic sectors such as gas, oil, and especially mining. This technical and operational experience is the added value that Menara and other Santa Fe-based companies offer to strengthen national mining development.

Menara Construcciones’ strategy is not limited to the execution of isolated projects but instead is based on local collaboration. Laorden emphasized that the objective is to work under Joint Venture (UTE) schemes, seeking strategic partners in every territory they enter in order to operate with the reliability of a local player. This philosophy of cooperative work even extends to competitors, whom the executive prefers to call “colleagues,” understanding that the scale of upcoming mining projects will require the participation of multiple stakeholders.

Finally, the company’s vision goes beyond mineral extraction. Laorden believes that mining growth will impact Argentina’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), while also generating unprecedented demand in urban development and provincial logistics. It is within this diversification of services—from civil construction to logistics infrastructure—that Menara Construcciones plans to redirect its capabilities in order to support the growth of San Juan and the country over the coming decades.
