Present at Expo Internacional San Juan Minera 2026, Córdoba Governor Martín Llaryora highlighted the importance of incorporating the central province into the Federal Mining Board. “As governor and as an Argentine, I believe that promoting mining means promoting a new engine of development for the country,” he stated, adding: “Mining, energy, and oil will complement agribusiness as strategic sectors to drive Argentina’s economic growth. To this we must add the knowledge industries and other productive sectors capable of generating wealth, investment, and employment. Without production and economic activity, it is impossible to create job opportunities.”

Llaryora emphasized participation “in this space that represents the reaffirmation of our commitment to key activities for national development. Córdoba also possesses significant industrial capacity to supply the inputs and services required by mining, oil, and gas. Many of those products are currently imported, but they can be manufactured in Argentina.”

“In 2014, during my administration as Minister of Industry, we promoted Córdoba’s mining, oil, and gas cluster. At that time, only 10 companies participated; today, more than 220 companies are directly or indirectly linked to these sectors. That growth was possible thanks to the province’s industrial tradition, supported by sectors such as the automotive industry, agricultural machinery, and metalworking, in addition to a broad network of industrial and technological services,” Llaryora explained, adding: “In recent years, numerous companies began adapting their production and services to meet the demands of mining, oil, and gas. I believe the growth of these industries will be exponential.”

The Córdoba governor also referred to the progress of projects under the RIGI framework, which will further accelerate demand for goods and services related to the sector. “There is a great opportunity for provincial companies to integrate into that value chain and complement the existing supply, especially considering growth that will likely exceed the market’s current capacity.”

Llaryora stressed the importance of collaboration between provinces and productive sectors: “Córdoba and San Juan, for example, can work together to provide industrial services and inputs related to mining, reducing greater dependence on imported products.”

“Each mining project generates investment, employment, and economic development for the provinces. At the same time, it opens opportunities for industries related to machinery manufacturing, auto parts, metalworking, and technological services. Córdoba already has that industrial network and has the capacity to integrate into the growth of mining, oil, and gas through high-quality products and services. That is both the challenge and the opportunity ahead of us,” Martín Llaryora concluded.
