Renowned San Juan geologist Mario Hernandez has been appointed as the new Sustainability Manager for the Los Azules copper project, operated by McEwen Copper in the province of San Juan.

This was announced by Filo Corp. in a recent statement, affirming the exceptional potential to expand the high sulfidation copper, gold, and silver epithermal deposit associated with a large copper and gold porphyry system located in San Juan territory. The goal for 2024 is to evaluate the full potential of the property, globally recognized for its geological wealth.

It occurred during a meeting with First Quantum Minerals and its subsidiary Corriente Argentina S.A. The National Mining Secretary also participated. "This is one of the most important projects that could change the productive matrix of the province," the government stated.

Canadian firm Latin Metals Inc. has announced the acquisition of the Terraza copper exploration project located in the province of Jujuy, taking possession of 68,000 hectares rich in the red metal. With an extensive exploration portfolio in South America, Latin Metals aims to establish a presence in the copper sector and sediment-hosted projects in this emerging region, expanding its land holdings to over 500,000 hectares.

Pampa Metals Corp. has unveiled the completion of the design for its diamond drilling program aimed at showcasing the potential of the Piuquenes Central copper-gold project in San Juan. The project area hosts a mineral body reaching a depth of 1,000 meters and a diameter of 300-500 meters.

Sendero Resources Corp. announced that drilling has commenced at its 100% owned Peñas Negras Project on the Vicuña Belt in La Rioja Province, Argentina.

The only mining initiative in Jujuy with local investment began two years ago, exploiting copper for export while progressing towards alluvial gold production.
