AbraSilver Resource Corp. submitted its request for the silver-gold Diablillos project, located in Salta with extension into Catamarca, to be included under the Large Investment Incentive Regime (RIGI). This represents a key step for the project’s development and an important signal for the investment market.

The RIGI, implemented this year by the National Government, establishes a new federal framework designed to attract large-scale initiatives through long-term fiscal stability agreements and a competitive package of tax, customs and foreign-exchange benefits. Both Salta and Catamarca have opted into the regime, allowing multi-jurisdictional mining projects such as Diablillos to apply for its incentives.
A strategic step toward the development phase
According to the company, approval under the RIGI could significantly improve the project’s economics and reinforce regulatory certainty in the stage preceding a construction decision. AbraSilver CEO, John Miniotis, noted that the submission marks “another major milestone” for the company and that an official decision is expected “in early 2026”, consistent with the roadmap toward a potential construction start next year.
Diablillos: an advanced project with robust resources
AbraSilver holds 100% ownership of Diablillos, considered one of the most advanced silver-gold projects in the region. The current estimate of Measured and Indicated Mineral Resources totals 73.1 Mt at grades of 79 g/t silver and 0.66 g/t gold, representing approximately 186 Moz of silver and 1.6 Moz of gold. The company highlighted that there is additional upside potential based on recent drilling results.
“The project is advancing in a mining-friendly environment with strong provincial support. AbraSilver also benefits from an experienced management team and a long-term shareholder base,” the company stated.
Presence in the country and portfolio diversification
Beyond Diablillos, the company maintains an earn-in and joint venture agreement with Teck on the La Coipita project in San Juan province. AbraSilver is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol ABRA and on the OTCQX market in the United States under the symbol ABBRF.
