The company, dedicated to the manufacturing and commercialization of continuous-slot steel screens, steel and PVC pipes, as well as column assembly services, showcased technologies currently applied extensively in both copper projects and lithium-related operations.

The information was provided by Germán Rodríguez, General Manager of Geotub, who highlighted the growth of mining activity and the strong momentum generated during the exhibition.

The company explained that one of its main developments is the filtration systems used in drilling operations to capture water from underground aquifers. These systems were originally created to meet the needs of the agricultural sector, although the growth of mining activity led them to adapt to new industrial demands.

Today, the technology developed by Geotub is used in water supply systems for mining camps, industrial processes, and dewatering systems associated with different projects. In addition, the company actively participates in lithium mining operations, where its filters play a key role in extracting brine from underground aquifers in salt flats.

One of the key points highlighted during the exhibition was the technological evolution the company underwent as it transitioned from agricultural solutions to products specifically designed for mining applications. According to Geotub, operating conditions require materials capable of withstanding greater mechanical stress, extreme depths, and corrosive environments.

In this context, the company developed different variants of filters and piping adapted to each requirement, using galvanized or stainless materials depending on the type of fluid and the conditions of each project.

Expectations Regarding Copper’s Impact in San Juan

Geotub stated that its growth within the mining sector represented a major transformation for the company, raising its technical and quality standards in order to meet the demands of the industry. The company currently supplies solutions to several operations in San Juan and views with optimism the projected growth of copper mining in the province and the opportunities opening up for specialized suppliers.
