The exploration junior Sable Resources Ltd. has commenced its field activities at the Don Julio Project, located in the province of San Juan. The company, listed on the TSX Venture Exchange, has confirmed that all exploration expenditures for this project are fully funded under an Earn-In Agreement signed in 2021 with a subsidiary of South32 Limited.

For the 2024-2025 field season, a budget of US$2 million has been approved. The camp setup is complete, and an 18 km Induced Polarization (IP) survey is scheduled to begin this week at the Colorado target. Additionally, a diamond drilling program of 2,000 meters is set to commence in the first week of November, focusing on the Morro and Colorado targets.
The Morro target is situated along a principal fault corridor where molybdenum anomalies, low resistivity, and moderate magnetic anomalies have been identified. Hydrothermal breccias with fragments cut by early quartz veinlets and widespread sericitic alteration have been found in this area. In 2023, B-type porphyry veinlets were intercepted below the lithocap alteration in a drill hole completed at the Poposa target, located 650 meters south of Morro.
On the other hand, the Cerro Colorado target features a strong dome-shaped IP anomaly covered by Quaternary gravels at an elevation of 4,100 meters above sea level. This anomaly appears to relate to the previously outlined Colorado breccia, a magmatic-hydrothermal breccia that outcrops at 4,900 meters. The breccia contains mineralized porphyry fragments, significantly affected by advanced argillic alteration, with anomalous geochemical values reaching up to 3.9% Cu and 13 g/t Au.
Sable's President and CEO, Rubén Padilla, stated: “We are pleased to start another field season at Don Julio, with the financial and technical support of our exploration partner South32. We have engaged Quantec Geoscience for the planned IP survey at Colorado, which will help us better define the shape of the chargeability anomaly outlined last year and explore its possible connection with the mineralized breccia that outcrops at Cerro Colorado. ConoSur Drilling will begin drilling at Morro, where various vectors suggest the presence of a porphyry center at depth, below the roof of the lithocap.”
